So we arrived back from our hols in Lanzarote the night before Halloween and Mr G ran down to the supermarket to pick up the traditional pumpkins…
…just in time to see the last one being sold.
Well, it had been a great holiday, but it looked like our little monsters were about to pay for it by missing out on one of their favourite parts of this spooky night. Everyone in our street displays a pumpkin to show who’s happy to receive Trick or Treaters at their door.
So I was wracking my brain to think of what I could carve as a replacement. It wasn’t looking good.
Then a courier service knocked at our door.
The lovely folk at The Buchanan Galleries in Glasgow had sent us a Halloween surprise of a fabulous pumpkin with my boys’ names carved on it.
As a blogger I’ve had PRs get in touch who couldn’t even be bothered to look up my name (it’s on the About Me page of this blog – not difficult to find). So I was touched that Yasmin from Stripe Communications had gone to the trouble of researching my children’s names for this special spooktastic treat.
When my little devil and….. little Spiderman devil (don’t ask!) went trick or treating tonight, we had what was easily the best-carved pumpkin in our street proudly displayed in the window.
So in the spirit of Halloween goodwill (see what I did there?) I’m going to share with you the following information about some spooktastic fun happening in Glasgow this weekend.
Buchanan Galleries’ shoppers are in for spooky treat this Halloween as the centre runs a spooktacular Halloween Treasure Hunt.
Throughout Halloween weekend (Fri October 31 – Sunday November 2) pumpkins will be popping up in store windows throughout the centre.
Shoppers must go in search of the 10 hidden pumpkins for the chance to win a £250 Buchanan Galleries gift card.
Entry forms can be picked up from the centre information desk on the first floor and every child who hands one back gets a trick or treat goody bag.
Buchanan Galleries has plenty for Halloween in stores, from costumes to gifts and accessories to treats. And customers can now shop longer with stores staying open until 8pm on Thursdays, 6pm on Sundays and 7pm every other evening.
